Bug Fest/Insect Field Day
2010 will be the second consecutive year that the American Entomological Society's Insect Field Day will be a part of the Academy of Natural Sciences' Annual Bug Fest. AES will have material from its ongoing Pine Barrens Insect Survey on display and Society members will lead walks across the street to the beautiful Logan Square fountain and garden to talk insects, ecology, and maybe net a bug or two for discussion purposes.
WE NEED ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS!
Please email email@example.com if you can cover time slots on either Saturday or Sunday, August 14 or 15.
The Academy is Bee Central this Summer! Bug Fest events include a celebration of the 200th birthday of Lorenzo Langstroth who revolutionized beekeeping, the Amazing Bee Beard, local beekeepers, bug cooking and tasting, a live invertebrate zoo, insects from the Entomology Department's Research Collection, bug pinning, cockroach races, insect crafts and games, and Ask the Entomologist.
